Another earthquake in Croatia. The automatic shutdown of the Krško nuclear reactor in Slovenia has been activated.

The Nuclear Safety Authority: "Situation under control, no operating anomalies are reported".

After yesterday's earthquake, at 12.19 this morning a new earthquake, this time of magnitude 6.4, with its epicenter in the city of Petrinja.

Following the report of the event, ISIN immediately contacted the Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration - SNSA , which was asked for information about the state of the Krško nuclear power plant, locatet about 80 km from the epicenter of the earthquake.

The SNSA confirmed that the intensity of the earthquake was such as to activate the automatic shutdown safety system of the nuclear reactor and, currently, the staff are implementing the normal stabilization procedures of the plant. Furthermore, the necessary analyzes are being carried out on the causes of the shutdown and verifying the conditions of the plant.

The Slovenian Nuclear Safety Authority clarified that the situation is under control and no operating anomalies are reported, with the exception of the automatic shutdown of the reactor.
