From tomorrow, start of the registrations to STRIMS (Traceability System of Radioactive Waste, Radioactive Materials and Sources of Ionizing Radiation)

Starting from Tuesday 23 February 2021, sector operators will be able to start registration on the ISIN website.

Legislative Decree 101/2020 requires all operators in the sector to register on the institutional site of the ISIN, and in particular for anyone who imports or produces for commercial purposes or, in any case, trades in materials or sources of ionizing radiation, those who carry out intermediation activities of the same, activities of detention of sources of ionizing radiation, transport of radioactive materials, collection and transport of radioactive waste and all subjects involved in the management of radioactive waste.

STRIMS was created by ISIN, as part of an institutional collaboration agreement with Unioncamere.

The system can be reached both from the site https://strims.isinucleare.it and from the institutional ISIN website https://www.isinucleare.it/.

For registration purposes, representatives of companies and entities access the reserved area for merchants with the National Service Card (CNS) or Public Digital Identity System (SPID).

Similar access methods are provided for the competent authorities referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 52 of Legislative Decree 101/2020.

Video tutorials are also available on the computer desk for accessing and completing the practices, a section containing the most frequently asked questions (FAQ) and a form for requesting assistance.

Subsequently, starting from 90 days from the publication of a specific ISIN press release in the Official Gazette, the registered operators must transmit the information relating to each operation carried out, the type and quantity of the sources involved in the operation according to the methods specified in Legislative Decree 101/2020.
