Latina power plant, the MISE issues, on the opinion of ISIN, the Authorization Decree for Disablement.

With the issue, by the Ministry of Economic Development, of the decree authorizing the decommissioning of the Latina plant, SO.G.I.N. was authorized to carry out the operations connected with a first phase of decommissioning the plant.

The act was issued on the basis of the opinion formulated by ISIN following the technical investigation conducted taking into account the observations of the other Administrations and the results of the public consultation.

It establishes conditions and requirements that regulate the execution of the operations of a first phase of decommissioning, called "Phase 1- Reduction of the plant", aimed at the safety of all previous radioactive waste or produced by the dismantling of structures, systems and plant components as well as the reduction in the external dimension of the reactor building in which, in turn, radioactive graphite remains confined within the core.

These operations are in addition to the preliminary ones already carried out or being implemented in the plant.
