STRIMS, what obligations for health facilities?

Public or private health facilities, including dental and dental practices, which use radiation generators and radioactive materials for medical exposure purposes, are exempted from the registration obligations on the STRIMS site (Traceability System for Radioactive Waste, Radioactive Materials and of ionizing radiation).

This, pending the agreement in the Permanent Conference for relations between the State, the Regions and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano, to be concluded within 18 months of the entry into force of Legislative Decree 101/2020.

On the contrary, the exemption does not apply to veterinary practices.

These are, therefore, structures that are not among the operators to whom the Decree attributes the obligation to register, since last February 23, on the STRIMS site.

The subjects indicated must, however, comply with the obligations established by art. 67 of Legislative Decree 101/2020, relating to high activity sealed sources.

STRIMS is a system created by ISIN, as part of an institutional collaboration agreement with Unioncamere, and can be reached both from the site https://strims.isinucleare.it and from the institutional site of the Inspectorate.

We have already talked about it, here.
