ISIN delegation visits JRC Ispra

On 26 and 27 March, at the European Commission Research Centre in Ispra, an ISIN delegation led by Director Francesco Campanella carried out a broad survey of the Centre's nuclear installations currently being decommissioned or where important activities in the field of radioactive waste management or nuclear fuel management are underway or about to start.

JRC Ispra, represented by the Director of Nuclear decommissioning & waste management, Laurent Jerrige, highlighted the European Commission's great commitment to implementing the decommissioning and waste management programme.

ISIN, in full accordance with the law establishing the Research Centre, will ensure maximum commitment both in the control of nuclear safety and radiation protection in the face of ongoing and planned activities, as well as for developments of an authorisation nature, maintaining that line of dialogue and constructive discussion with the JRC that has been consolidated over the last year.
