Joint inspection activities and training, memorandum of understanding signed between ISIN and INL

The memorandum of understanding between the National Inspectorate for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection and the National Labour Inspectorate was signed yesterday in Rome.
The Agreement, which will last three years, provides for the performance of joint inspection activities, in line with the respective annual inspection plans, and the organization of training initiatives in matters of common interest.
"The signing of the memorandum of understanding between ISIN and INL represents a significant moment that confirms the desire of both Inspectorates to further enhance their mutual inspection activities, creating operational synergies useful for better addressing even very complex operational scenarios", commented Francesco Campanella, ISIN director, on the sidelines of the meeting. “ISIN, in particular, therefore renews its willingness to open up to the comparison with the other components of the system of supervisory authorities, in order to provide its own contribution to the creation, in our country, of a more developed culture of safety, also in the nuclear field, in the belief that sharing this objective with other Administrations will make it more easily achievable".
An unprecedented institutional synergy”, commented Danilo Papa, general director of INL, aimed at “making the supervisory activity in a high-risk sector more effective and coordinated. The agreement enhances the specific skills of the two Administrations and demonstrates the common desire to place risk prevention and the protection of workers' health at the center of institutional action. With this agreement, the National Labor Inspectorate renews its commitment to increasingly modern, efficient and integrated supervision, based on experience, innovation and interinstitutional collaboration, in the primary interest of the community”.
