ISIN's major contribution to the AIRP 2025 Congress
The 39th AIRP National Congress recently concluded in Padova. This year, it addressed many highly topical issues, including the role of radiation protection in a potential national nuclear energy plan.
ISIN Director Francesco Campanella spoke on the first day, during the opening session. This year, ISIN experts also participated as moderators and speakers, as well as presenting posters. The Inspectorate was also involved in the Scientific Committee's activities.
Specifically, ISIN participated in the following presentations:
- The new SINRAD NORM database
- Operational protocols for the Oil & Gas sector: first-year results of the INAIL-ENI Spa Memorandum of Understanding
- From radium to reels: the metamorphoses of radioactivity communication
- Ministry of Health - ISIN guidelines on the management of solid materials containing radioactive substances produced in the healthcare sector
- Transport of radioactive material in the healthcare sector: critical issues and initiatives
- Definition of the source term for a nuclear detonation in Ukraine: from initial release to fallout on Italian soil
- Radiological consequences of a tactical nuclear device detonation in Ukraine: analysis of the fallout on Italian soil
Three posters were presented:
- Uncertainty analysis of radon exposure measurements by ISIN's POLITRACK and TASLIMAGE instruments
- Comparison of the performance of the two automated nuclear trace readers, Politrack and TASLImage, on international comparison samples UKHSA 2024
- Nuclear Fission Power Plants: The Role of the Competent Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection in Italy.
