The future of nuclear energy between innovation and safety: ISIN at the ANGI event

On February 20, at the David Sassoli multimedia space in Rome, ISIN participated in the conference "Nuclear Energy in Energy Planning: Safety, Innovation, and Competitiveness in the International Context", organized by ANGI - National Association of Young Innovators, with the patronage of the European Parliament, the World Energy Council Italy and the Information Technology Executives Club - CDTI.
Institutional representatives, stakeholders in the energy sector, businesses and universities were invited to participate and share their perspectives on this highly topical issue.
ISIN also contributed to the discussion, highlighting the importance of the Inspectorate, as an independent regulatory and oversight authority, over the management of nuclear energy in Italy, from the authorization phase, which precedes the implementation of any project, through to the complete decommissioning of nuclear sites and their restoration as a "green field."
The debate highlighted the need for cooperation among the various stakeholders, especially in promoting information initiatives among the public, so that the ambitious nuclear project of the future, including not only next-generation and modular reactors but also the concrete feasibility of fusion reactors, becomes a real possibility.
