ISIN's supervisory activity strengthened: the inspectorate's staff increases to 17
The Inspectorate is determinedly continuing its structural strengthening process. With recent appointments, the agency has further accelerated its operational capacity, bringing the total number of inspectors to 17.
This increase in staffing is not merely a numerical measure, but a crucial step towards making monitoring activities even more comprehensive and effective. Thanks to this renewed workforce, ISIN can ensure excellent surveillance of nuclear plants and reactors, storage sites and research centers, the use of ionizing radiation sources and radioactive waste management throughout the country.
In carrying out their duties, the 17 ISIN inspectors act as Judicial Police Officers. This status gives them the power to access any supervised site without restrictions, allowing them to conduct rigorous checks on the safety of installations and the protection of workers, citizens, and the environment.
