CBRN Defense: how Institutions, Universities and Healthcare create new synergies
ISIN Director Francesco Campanella spoke at the workshop "The Country System in CBRN Defense," held at the Ministry of Defense's Joint School for Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense. During his presentation, Campanella illustrated the Inspectorate's role in the event of a radiological and nuclear event, also relating it to the current debate on nuclear energy. A lively roundtable discussion followed, in which ISIN, along with representatives from the Defense, Interior, Universities and Healthcare sectors, sparked a debate on appropriate strategies and approaches to the operational management of CBRN Defense.
The workshop provided an interesting opportunity to bring together diverse skills and perspectives, highlighting how territorial defense issues require careful attention because they require the various administrations involved to reflect on the importance of "working as a system," "building networks," and "creating synergies." These actions inevitably represent a significant opportunity for development—including cultural development—for our country.
