ISIN "in progress": annual Report to the Government and Parliament presented today

Today, ISIN presented its Annual Report to the Government and Parliament on the activities carried out and on nuclear safety within the national territory, with reference to the year 2025.

The event was held at Palazzo Giustiniani in Rome, one of the institutional venues of the Senate of the Republic.

“In 2025, we once again worked to fulfill the role that the law still assigns to us today with authority, credibility, and transparency,” stated the director, Francesco Campanella. “The Inspectorate continued to carry out its role as a guarantor of nuclear safety and radiation protection, while always keeping a close eye on institutional communication and public information to raise social and collective awareness of its current strategic importance. Ours is an entity increasingly committed to promoting safety standards aligned with the principles and criteria championed by the IAEA, and which—despite being pressed by a highly demanding workload—has never refused to engage in dialogue with the stakeholder system, operators, and interested parties, in the absolute conviction that this does not limit its independence, but rather makes it more virtuously modern. The operational activities we carried out showed significant progress, and our presence on the ground—including competence transfer events—saw a clear and significant increase in 2025, receiving explicit appreciation from many among the Entity's reference audience. A lot of work remains to be done, but we are all solidly convinced of the path undertaken in 2024.”
