STRIMS, new deadline for public and private health facilities

The deadline for registering and sending communications to the ISIN institutional site STRIMS is extended to 31 March 2023: subjects of the provision, as required by law no. 15 of 25 February 2022, public or private health facilities, including dental and dental practices, which use radiation generators and radioactive materials for medical exposure purposes.

The temporary exemption does not cover registration and reporting obligations for high activity sealed sources. Furthermore, the obligations to communicate the shipment of radioactive waste possibly produced by the handling of radioactive materials remain. Healthcare facilities, therefore, which deliver radioactive waste to authorized parties, are required to register and transmit the related communications.
