Owners and traders of materials or sources of ionizing radiation, news regarding registration with STRIMS

Starting from February, those who trade or broker radioactive materials or sources (profiles art. 42 of Legislative Decree no. 101/2020), who hold sources of ionizing radiation (art. 48) or high activity sources (article 67) will be able to register with STRIMS by providing a limited set of information.

A novelty which, in the registration procedure, requires the indication only of the location, activity carried out (trade/brokerage or possession) and identification details of the provision/notification, accompanied by a copy of the provision itself or of the notification.

Further information, such as the type of sources or X-ray machines, is not required during registration.

The information required by the attachments pursuant to art. 42, 48 and 67 of Legislative Decree n.101/2020 will be sent with communications of contract stipulations and/or placing on the market (art.42), initial inventory, start of holding and/or termination of holding (articles 48 and 67).
