Safety in radioactive waste management and decommissioning, the 24th meeting of the NEA Regulators' Forum kicks off

Two intense days of work, which will end tomorrow, for the Regulators' Forum, the group made up of representatives of the nuclear safety authorities of OCSE countries, which operate within the "Radioactive Waste Management" (RWMC) and "Decommissioning" Committees (CDLM) of the Nuclear Energy Agency - NEA.
The main objective of the Regulators' Forum is to strengthen the dialogue between the regulatory bodies and thus encourage greater harmonization in the field of safety in the management of radioactive waste and decommissioning.
The meeting, which takes place via video conference, is led by the president of the Regulators' Forum, Mario Dionisi, technical manager of the Service for the management of radioactive waste and for the transport of radioactive materials of ISIN.
In order to develop specific technical positions and guidelines, the participants will bring their contribution on various topics of common interest. In particular, a specific session is planned, during which OCSE countries will illustrate their experiences regarding the consequences, on surveillance and inspection activities, of the COVID-19 pandemic.
